Salem Music Network: Touching Lives
I haven't been in touch with Christianity since my Granny died 14 yrs ago. Lately my husband and I have been struggling with finances and raising two small children (both under 2yrs old). Unfortunately I can't afford to work due to childcare cost. With stress and so many worries, I was about to break down until last night. I turned on the radio and found your station. It's silly how music can give someone hope, but that's what it has done. Thanks for bringing hope back into my life with those beautiful songs of inspiration. I'm new to your station and I love it so much that I
finally went back to church and I felt so safe there that I am giving my self
back to Jesus. On Christmas Eve
morning I will be baptized. Thank you all for having a great station and great
and funny people. I just want to thank you for your music and all that you
do. One year ago I was on the verge of suicide and when I went to turn off
the radio I hit the wrong button and the song "Who am I" from Casting
Crowns came on and saved me at the moment. You guys are the only station I
listen to. I listen everyday and have become stronger in the Lord thanks
to you guys. My husband passed away three years ago, and since then I
really have not been able to enjoy the Christmas season. I teach school,
and drive about an hour to work. I was dreading the "all Christmas
music" time, since the music bothered me the most. How wonderful it is to
tell you that I listened anyway, and I have had a new awakening with the Lord.
I am passionate about the music! Thanks to you, I have hope and renewal in
my life. Thank you for your ministry to all of us who listen every
morning. It does change lives. I just want you guys to know you have an awesome
morning show and I really enjoy listening to you. I have been listening
for over 4 years , I had never heard Christian music until then. I
grew up not knowing Christ; am now 47 years old and am a born again Christian
since Sept 13th, a couple of days after 911. You are an inspiration to me and I
thank you for being a part of my daily life. I am new to listening...and from the first moment I tuned in things changed. Right now I am going through what has become the most difficult time that I have ever faced and with my husband gone training in the army it is even harder to focus. With so many blessings that God has been giving me, it is a wonder that it took Satan so long to try and take it all away. However, no matter the battle I am facing, listening to ya'll has really made a huge difference in how I approach things. Thank you for helping me see that no matter the feelings of pain or loneliness there is always a light to guide. PLUS: And here's a heart wrenching story from a lady who called to tell how her 21-year old brother had just died in a motorcycle accident. He was a drug user and a heavy drinker. One month before his death he started listening to the local Salem affiliate, and it changed his life dramatically. He began seeking the things of God and started attending church where he surrendered his life to Jesus. His sister and family reported they were just so thankful to God for the station's timely influence in her brother's life before he was "called home to be with the Lord."
