Aside from great contemporary Christian music programming from some of your favorite guys and gals, here's a listing of some of the other key features available to all Salem affiliates.

Music

• Daily music logs - Need to find a song title for a listener, or need to make sure the music flow of any shifts originating from your studios matches Salem's music flow?  Get our daily music logs!  These list hour-by-hour, every single song to be aired on the network.  Access them online.

• Weekly Currents - Want to keep up with which current hits are in hot rotation and which are in medium?  Get our Weekly Currents list online.

• BMI logs - Have music logging requirements for BMI or ASCAP?  Send these agencies a copy of our BMI logs.  They contain all the reporting information required by the music licensing organizations and can be obtained online.  Or, if you'd like, simply mail us a floppy disk (in a padded envelope, please) and we'll copy the logs you need right onto your disk.

Liners & Voicework

• Localization - If making your network feed sound like it's originating from your own studio is important to you, you'll be happy to know that all the current things you would (should) normally be touching up on in any locally-originated airshifts can also be handled through the network.

From station events, contests, programs or special guests, to weather, traffic, news and concert calendars, we can give your listeners that "right from your local studio" feeling.  It's all creatively and expertly handled through the myriad of free liner and voicework production available through network staff.  For complete details on each of these areas, see some of the following items and check out Using Network Liners.

Note that recorded station liners are available on an as-needed basis to all affiliates from all full and part-time Salem staff.  There is no charge.

• Contest Enactments - Got a local going on?  Our staff is happy to pre-record contest enactments.  Some affiliates simply have the appropriate network air personality voice a message like, "Spirit FM has Jaci Velasquez concert tickets and if you're my 5th caller to 333-3333, you win a pair."   Others write longer scripts and leave a hole in the middle for a local voice to come in and give winner names plus other details.  No matter what your method is, these work handily within network stopsets.  There is no charge for this service.

• Traffic, news and weather tosses - Create interaction between the on-air personality and your local news, traffic or weather voice.  Network "tosses" do the trick!  (i.e. "Today's Christian Music 103.1- I'm Wade McShane and Jeff Andrews is here now with this morning's trivia contest plus today's forecast").

Staff Interaction

• Bios - Want your audience to better know the people behind the microphones?  Short bios for all full-time Salem airstaff are available online.

• Getting To Know Your Air Personalities - From time to time, affiliates desire for listeners to know the real person who's on the air.  So they ask our air personalities to fill out short profiles with questions ranging from "Where were you born?" to "What's your favorite ice cream flavor?" to "What was your favorite pet?"  If you ever want information like this, our full-time air personalities always are pleased to help out.

• Weekly Briefings - Our staff updates you on Salem events and news each Thursday via our weekly newsletter.  View it online, receive it via email or have it faxed to you.

• Easy email contact - Contact any Salem staff member via email.  Send mail to the staff here.

Production

• Sharathon promos - We're happy to voice these free of charge to all stations holding Sharathons.  Send us your desired 30 or 60 second scripts, or if needed, we'll be happy to write some for you.  We'll have all full-time staff voice these for your use before, during and after Sharathon.

• Station Image Voice -  Need a Big Voice to image any of your non-Salem programming?  Whether it's an image voice for your own morning show ("Good morning Poughkeepsie, It's the morning show with Kip and Jan on Spirit FM") or an image voice for another programming segment ("Here's the James Dobson Family Commentary, sponsored by Arbuckle Counseling Center and Spirit FM"), Salem air personalities can be hired to voice these and give your station a cohesive sound.   Most staff can voice a page of 10 Image Voice elements for $25 to $75, depending on voice talent desired.  Call for exact rates.

• Commercials, Promos and Grant Announcements - Need extra voices to use on your production?  Several of our affiliates have joined the Salem Affiliate Voice Talent Pool which is comprised of station personnel willing to do free voicework for another affiliate so long as that second affiliate will do free voicework for them.  Visit online for a list of participating stations and contacts.

Also, Salem full-time airstaff is available to  voice your commercials, grant announcements or other necessary promos.  Most staff members charge $$35-$85 per spot.  Call for exact pricing.

Additional Staffing

• Extra holiday staff available at no charge -  Can't find enough people to cover all your on-air hours over the holidays?  Regardless of how much network programming you've contracted to air, we make available, free of charge, extra network hours so you can easily cover the major holidays.  Look for details each holiday season in your weekly network newsletter.

• Extra hours to cover ill employees - Have someone call in sick at the last minute?  Need a quick and easy way to cover their airshift?  Simply fill out a network authorization grid detailing the emergency network hours you need, fax it to us and we'll do our absolute best to be sure you get network audio ASAP.

Appearances

• Remotes - Need a member of your network staff to emcee a concert or appear at other station events?  Although we can't accommodate all requests, staff members are often available to appear for $550 per day plus expenses (travel, food, lodging).  Call for availabilities.

• On-Air Sharathon Workers - Several of our air personalities come from non-commercial backgrounds and bring a wealth of Sharathon experience.  They're frequently available to work with you during your Sharathon.  Cost is $550 per day plus expenses (travel, food, lodging).  Call for availabilities.

Artist Interaction

• Artist visits - Salem broadcasts live from the Christian music capital of the world, and as such, normally has one to two artists drop by the on-air studios every single week.  They're by far one of the most popular listener events on the air.  To be sure you get in on these, air Salem mid-days and afternoons.

Free Online Support

• Just about all forms, information, documents, logs - just about anything you can think of for that matter - can be found online.

Online Audio Services!

• Music Singles Service - Having a tough time getting new singles shipped to you from the record labels?  Forget the aggravating delays.  As a Salem affiliate, you can now download new singles when you want them - right from the Salem web site.

• Commercial and promo bulk feeds via Internet - Missed this week's feeds?  All weekly commercial and promo feeds are online, meaning you can access them any time you want to - not just when they're sent down the standard closed circuit feed.

• Liner and production delivery via Internet - Reduce turnaround time by downloading your liner packages directly from the Internet!
